Lucia De Stefano
Lucia De Stefano is Associate Professor at Complutense University of Madrid (Spain), where she teaches hydrology and hydrogeology. She is also an international consultant, having worked for USAID, The World Bank, University of Oxford and Oregon State University. Her previous position was as a senior research fellow at the Water Observatory of the Botín Foundation, a Spanish think-tank working on water policy in Spain and Latin America. She has been a research assistant at Oregon State University, USA, working on global studies on water conflicts and resilience to climate-change-induced water variability, and regional water governance benchmarking in the Middle East and Northern Africa. Lucia has worked as a policy officer for WWF, the international environmental NGO and as a water management specialist in the private sector. A hydrogeologist by training, she obtained her advanced degree in Geological Sciences from the University of Pavia (Italy), and holds a PhD on evaluation of water policies from Complutense University of Madrid, Spain.
She received formal training in water conflict management and negotiation at Oregon State University, USA; and UNESCO-IHE in Delft, the Netherlands. Her main fields of interest are public policy evaluation, multi-level water planning, drought management and vulnerability, groundwater management, transboundary waters, and the assessment of good governance attributes, with a special focus on information transparency.
Rubén Ladrera
Ruben Ladrera. Degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Salamanca and Doctor from the Public University of Navarra. Master in ecology of inland aquatic ecosystems from the University of Barcelona. He works as a secondary teacher, Biology and Geology specialty at IES Comercio (Logroño), combining with associate professor at the Didactics of Experimental Sciences Area of the University of La Rioja. His research on water field has focused on the study of the aquatic macroinvertebrate community as indicator of river ecological status and on the invasive algae Didymosphenia geminata, studying aspects related to its ecology, distribution, and effects on the river ecosystem. In the education field he has developed studies to assess the knowledge that students have about fluvial ecosystems and their sustainable management, and he has deepened in the use of learning tools and educational programs related to water and environmental education.

Ana García
Ana García Bautista. She is consultant in fluvial ecology, hydromorphology and hydrological planning, with extensive experience in the application of the European Water Framework Directive. She works on the assessment of the ecological status or rivers: hydromorphological quality, biological (macroinvertebrates, diatoms, macrophytes, fish) and physicochemical indicators, river barrier and connectivity, etc. She has collaborated with water planning offices in different technical assistance studies: definition of water bodies, studies on drinking water protection perimeters, ecological flows, etc. In addition, she carries out diagnostic studies and improvement of water ecosystems for social entities, public entities and private companies. She is an environmentalist from the University of Granada and has a French Advanced Studies Certificate in physical geography, as well as a Master's Degree in Sustainable River Management and Integrated Water Management.
